The City of Milwaukee undertook this major bridge rehabilitation project using City funds to address, improve, repair, and/or replace existing structural and operational deficiencies, and provide a friendlier pedestrian and bicyclist crossing. This project, in addition to traffic control and detouring, included erosion control, utilities relocation, field verification survey, approach roadway and walk replacement, excavation and backfilling, structural steel and reinforced concrete repairs, refurbishing, removal, and replacement, structural steel painting, bearing pads replacement, joint sealer, crack sealing, concrete staining, steel and sheet piling, steel railing repairs and replacement, street lighting, pavement marking, and associated work.
TERRA coordinated with the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) to secure permitting and to ensure a successful delivery effort.
